FHA loans have stricter requirements and things you may think are just “cosmetic” may actually be a required repair by HUD/FHA.This could save you or your client from delayed closings and surprise expenses!

ANSI Home Measurement Services

Did you know, that in the summer of 2022, Fannie Mae backed loans required appraisers to report the subject’s gross living area (GLA) using the ANSI standard of measurement? One of the greatest impacts to the value of your home is the size of your home. Most real estate professionals rely on the county assessor when reporting the size of a home, but guess what? The assessor is not required to follow ANSI standards and rarely do they go inside of a dwelling to measure additions or take out areas that are not part of the GLA. Be sure of the size of your home, it could save you thousands of dollars and headaches down the road.
